Virtual Women's Retreat:
Paths to Prayer

A new spin on our annual time of relaxation, learning, and bonding with other Christian women!

​At this virtual retreat, we will consider the many paths to prayer and how you can cultivate prayer practices that deepen your relationship with the divine. By exploring the faith traditions, prayers, and practices of different cultures through meditation, rituals, art, music and journaling, you will learn how a life of prayer - being in the presence of the Divine - helps you discover God amid the nitty-gritty of everyday living.

Prior to the retreat, please acquire a copy of the text Paths to Prayer: Finding Your Own Way to the Presence of God — Discover Your Prayer Type and Explore 40 Ways to Pray from 200 Years of Christian Tradition.

Participants will need an audio and visual enabled device for the virtual event (ie,, laptop, tablet, phone). A packet of additional materials will be mailed upon registration.

Rev. Dr. Patricia D. Brown, an ordained pastor with the United Methodist Church, is Executive Director of the Spiritworks Center for Formation and Leadership in Pittsburgh. In this position she consultants and teaches leadership and spiritual formation as well as supports educational ministry in Rwanda, Africa. She also works as the Bereavement Services Manager for VITAS Healthcare of Pittsburgh.
Patricia seeks to be open and live in spirit-filled ways. The work closest to her heart is facilitating ongoing spiritual life through the creation of sacred spaces and times specifically formulated to help individuals and communities become alive in bringing greater good to the world.
Widowed at the age of twenty-five with a three-year-old child, Dr. Brown is now married to Dale Bauman, a registered nurse. She has two sons; Christian who is married to Sara lives in Brooklyn with granddaughter Lucia, and Stephen who is married to Anna lives in California with granddaughter Joy.
