The Carolyn Hartley Christian Educator Refresh and Renewal Scholarship
The Carolyn Hartley Christian Educator Refresh and Renewal Scholarship provides funds for a limited number of two-night stays (meals included), for up to two individuals at Olmsted Manor, Ludlow, PA.
The primary beneficiaries for this scholarship should be: Deacons and paid or volunteer staff working directly in Christian education in local United Methodist churches. Alternates would include Elders in the local church; individuals working directly in Christian education at the district or conference level; and professors or staff in Christian education at United Methodist educational institutions, in that order. Applications for the scholarship are to be submitted to the Director of Olmsted Manor who will evaluate the applications and award the scholarships striving to ensure parity among districts and other appropriate organizations.
The scholarship fund shall be managed by the United Methodist Foundation of Western Pennsylvania or its successor organizations. Any funds not used during a given year may be used to promote the scholarship (pay for printing of scholarship specific materials etc.) or will be reinvested in the scholarship principal at the end of the year.
