Centering Prayer Retreat
You are invited to this sacred time away to focus on your own spiritual journey, be enriched by the witness of others, and to be guided toward a deeper awareness of God. Our retreat leader, Samantha E. Lioi, will lead us to investigate our deepest desires, from an Ignatian perspective, discerning what gives us and the world around us life. At Olmsted you will find a quiet place to refresh, reflect, and discover renewed spiritual direction. All are welcome to come away and enjoy all that an Olmsted retreat has to offer.

Retreat Leader

Samantha E. Lioi is a writer, spiritual director, and group/retreat leader. Samantha was trained and certified in spiritual guidance by the wise, tender, good-humored teachers of Oasis Ministries for Spiritual Development, based in Camp Hill, PA. She is an ordained minister in the Mennonite Church USA. In addition to congregational ministry, she has served in community ministry as a co-founder of Zumē House, an intentional community in Allentown, PA, and as Peace and Justice Minister for Mosaic Mennonite Conference (then Eastern District and Franconia). In her current home on the lands of the Haudenosaunee and Wenrohronon people (known now as Buffalo, NY), she has worked part time with the New York Campaign for Alternatives to Isolated Confinement (NYCAIC), which as of March 2021 helped pass a bill to end the torture of solitary confinement in NY prisons and jails. The goal of Samantha's work is to offer spiritual direction as space for you to deepen your awareness of God and live more freely. This past summer, Samantha rode a bicycle across the US as part of a supported Climate Ride - to learn, raise awareness, and stimulate action toward better care for our home, the earth.
