Clearing Clutter and Opening Up Space
Just like many of you, here at Olmsted we spend days decorating for Christmas.
And then, in January, we spend days putting it all back into storage. Every year we hope that the order we have imposed on the boxes and tubs full of bows and sparkles will make next year that much easier. That's the plan. Sometimes it actually works! One of the perks of this old manorhouse is the abundance of storage space. We can put truckloads of ornaments away without invading the space reserved for our guests and for our offices. Olmsted is blessed with space.

A lot of people use the dark cold days of January to sort through the clutter and reorganize their homes. Getting rid of our exess stuff leaves space for what really matters. Clutter is distracting and the attention we give to it saps our energy.
Clutter is more than just the physical stuff that is taking up space around our homes and offices. Here in our little valley Olmsted's cell phone range is limited in the lobby of Groves Lodge and non-existant everywhere else on the property. Some people thrive on the restrictions. Frequently we hear guests here at Olmsted comment on how nice it is to be in a place where our 'air' isn't saurated with the clutter of electronics, gadgets and e-this and e-that. Less distraction mens more focus. Its simple. Now, I need to apply that to my desktop...
